What to do now

  1. Check whether you run Adobe ColdFusion and which version is installed (look at your ColdFusion version number in the admin/status page or server startup info).
  2. Verify whether your ColdFusion web pages accept and reflect user-controlled values into the HTML (typical signs: parameters in URLs appear on the page in any form).
  3. Upgrade ColdFusion using the vendor guidance in APSB26-68 to the first fixed release listed there.
  4. If you cannot upgrade right away, reduce exposure by limiting who can reach the affected ColdFusion endpoints and ensure users only access the site through trusted navigation (as reflected XSS relies on users opening attacker-crafted links).
