Steps
Written by AI from the record- Check your WordPress site's plugin list for 'Bricksforge' and note the version number — anything 3.1.8.9 or earlier is affected.
- Since no official patch is available yet, deactivate the Bricksforge plugin immediately until a fix is released.
- If you cannot deactivate it, ask your host or a security provider to block or monitor requests to the plugin's file upload and nonce-regeneration endpoints.
- Check your site for unexpected PHP files in upload directories, which would indicate the site may already be compromised.
- Watch for a vendor update and apply it as soon as it becomes available.

What it is
From the CVE record
The Bricksforge plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthenticated arbitrary file upload in versions up to, and including, 3.1.8.9. This is due to insufficient validation of the attacker-controlled URL field in the 'temporaryFileUploads' parameter during form submission. An unauthenticated attacker can first obtain a valid nonce via the bricksforge_regenerate_nonce AJAX endpoint, then upload a GIF/PHP polyglot file to the temporary upload directory where MIME type validation is correctly performed. Subsequently, the attacker can submit a form with a crafted 'temporaryFileUploads' parameter where the server-side file path points to the validated GIF file, but the attacker-controlled url field ends with a .php extension. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload and execute arbitrary PHP code on the server.
In plain language
Written by AI from the recordA critical, unauthenticated flaw lets attackers upload and run malicious code on any WordPress site using the Bricksforge plugin (version 3.1.8.9 or earlier), with no fix available yet — this needs urgent attention if you use this plugin.
Unauthenticated arbitrary file upload (CWE-434) in Bricksforge ≤3.1.8.9's 'temporaryFileUploads' parameter allows a GIF/PHP polyglot bypass of MIME validation, leading to remote PHP code execution without any authentication or user interaction.
