CVE-2026-82329
Potential authentication bypass leading to administrative access in Artifactory
Description
JFrog Artifactory contains an authentication weakness that, under default configuration, may allow an unauthenticated attacker with network access to obtain administrative privileges.
In plain language
AI Act nowCVE-2026-82329 is a critical Artifactory login flaw where an attacker on the internet can gain administrator access without credentials; if your Artifactory is reachable from the internet, you should act immediately.
CVE-2026-82329 is an authentication bypass in JFrog Artifactory (CWE-287) that allows an unauthenticated network attacker—under default configuration—to obtain administrative access by minting/forging admin tokens.
What to do now
- Check whether your JFrog Artifactory is reachable from the public internet (directly accessible from outside your network).
- Verify your current Artifactory version and compare it to the fixed versions: 7.111.21, 7.117.28, 7.125.20, 7.133.29, 7.146.38, or 7.161.20.
- Upgrade Artifactory to the corresponding fixed version for your release line as soon as possible.
- If you cannot upgrade right away, immediately restrict network access so Artifactory is not reachable from the internet (allow-list only approved IPs/VPN paths).
- After upgrading (or mitigation), review Artifactory authentication/admin activity logs for suspicious logins, token use, and configuration changes.
