What to do now

  1. Check your current Visual Studio Code version (Help → About) and confirm whether you’re on a version older than 1.132.1.
  2. Update Visual Studio Code to 1.132.1 or later as the fix.
  3. In the meantime, avoid opening untrusted projects/files and be cautious with Copilot suggestions that come from unknown sources.
  4. After updating, review any recent editor/log activity around unusual command execution behavior and ensure your endpoints have standard malware protections enabled.
