What to do now

  1. Check whether you have Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 (version 17.14) and/or Visual Studio 2026 (version 18.8) installed, and record their build numbers.
  2. Check your installed .NET runtime versions (/.NET 8.0, .NET 9.0, .NET 10.0) and note the exact version numbers.
  3. Update immediately to the fixed versions: Visual Studio 2022 to 17.14.38, Visual Studio 2026 to 18.8.3, .NET 8.0 (and .net) to 8.0.30, .NET 9.0 to 9.0.19, and .NET 10.0 to 10.0.11.
  4. If you cannot patch right away, reduce exposure by limiting who can get local access to developer machines and by restricting access to machines where the vulnerable .NET code is loaded.
If using Visual Studio installers: update Visual Studio 2022 to 17.14.38 and Visual Studio 2026 to 18.8.3, and update installed .NET runtimes to .NET 8.0/.NET 8.0.30, .NET 9.0 9.0.19, and .NET 10.0 10.0.11.
