PHP uses longjmp() for out-of-memory (OOM) errors to exit the current context and abort handling of the request. Some contexts may not properly account for this scenario and leave request memory in an uninitialized state before performing an allocation. The subsequent request cleanup procedure may read or branch on this memory. Multiple OOM strategies can consistently trigger this condition and lead to remote code execution (RCE).
A serious flaw in PHP (the programming language running most websites) lets attackers crash and then take over a server by starving it of memory, and this is already being used in real attacks — if your website or online store runs on PHP, you need your developer or host to update it now.
An out-of-memory handling flaw in PHP (CWE-416/824/1419: longjmp-based OOM recovery leaves uninitialized or freed memory that is later read/branched on during request cleanup) allows an unauthenticated network attacker to repeatedly force OOM conditions and achieve remote code execution, with exploitation already observed in the wild.
