Steps
Written by AI from the record- Check your Strapi version — this affects versions through 4.5.5.
- Confirm who has admin panel access and review for unauthorized accounts.
- Upgrade @strapi/strapi to version 4.8.0 or later.
- After upgrading, rotate any API tokens, password reset tokens, and admin credentials that may have been exposed.
- Restrict admin panel access to trusted networks/VPN if not already done.

What it is
From the CVE record
Strapi through 4.5.5 allows attackers (with access to the admin panel) to discover sensitive user details by exploiting the query filter. The attacker can filter users by columns that contain sensitive information and infer a value from API responses. If the attacker has super admin access, then this can be exploited to discover the password hash and password reset token of all users. If the attacker has admin panel access to an account with permission to access the username and email of API users with a lower privileged role (e.g., Editor or Author), then this can be exploited to discover sensitive information for all API users but not other admin accounts.
In plain language
Written by AI from the recordStrapi, a website/content management tool, has a flaw that lets someone who already has access to the admin panel pull private user details like emails and reset tokens, and attackers are actively using this right now — if you run Strapi, act immediately.
Strapi through 4.5.5 is vulnerable to sensitive-data exposure (CWE-312) because its admin-panel query filter allows filtering on private user columns, letting an authenticated admin-level attacker enumerate confidential fields; this is confirmed under active exploitation and listed in CISA KEV.
