The ransomware group Clop has claimed responsibility for exfiltrating 89 GB of data from Shell, including engineering drawings and audit reports. The intrusion reportedly stems from active exploitation of critical vulnerability CVE-2026-12569 in internet-facing instances of PTC Windchill and FlexPLM. While patches were available as of June 17, 2026, Clop continued using web shells to steal confidential documents, affecting other organizations such as General Electric and Philips.
